The mission of Peacewalk aligns closely with that of the Flame of Hope: promoting unity, hope, and nonviolence by bringing people together across cultures, encouraging dialogue, and embracing shared responsibility for a more compassionate future.

Carrying the Flame of Hope to Jerusalem is a natural extension of the Flame's mission—it symbolizes solidarity and compassion without borders—already alive in the hearts of the walkers.

“This is a walk for justice, peace, and human dignity," says Rikko Vorberg, founder of Peacewalk. "A nonviolent, grassroots action, uniting voices that oppose oppression, occupation, and violence, in favour of reconciliation, equality, and peace for all.”

Since 2015, the Flame of Hope has traveled from Nagasaki to Hiroshima, from Auschwitz to Srebrenica, and from the First Nations of Canada to Israel and Palestine. Every year, the Flame’s prayers and activities inspire thousands of people all around the globe to work for the bright future that we all share.

The Flame of Hope is proud to be an official partner of Peacewalk, a collective pilgrimage for peace—a journey across Europe to Al-Quds/Jerusalem, following the Jerusalem Way, the longest peace path in the world.

On February 1st, 2026, the Flame of Hope had the honour of participating in the launch of Peacewalk from Finisterre, Spain, the legendary “end of the world.”

The walk will cross the whole of Europe with the aim of reaching Jerusalem in June 2027, raising awareness and calling for a solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, as well as to the many other conflicts that continue to escalate across the planet. The Peacewalk is not only a walk—it is a conscious call to humanity.

Along the route, the World March for Peace will create multiple meeting points and moments of connection in key cities across Europe and beyond, including Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Sarajevo, Istanbul, and many more, on the way to Jerusalem in 2027.
