On February 1st, 2026, the Flame of Hope had the honour of participating in the launch of The World March for Peace and Nonviolence – Peacewalk: The Way to Jerusalem. The global peace pilgrimage began in Finisterre, Spain, the legendary “end of the world,” and will cross Europe to reach Jerusalem in June 2027.
The evening before the start of the Peace March, Belén Rodilla, European Flame of Hope Ambassador, presented the Flame in two symbolic locations: the Lighthouse of Finisterre and the Cultural Center of the Town Hall, in front of hundreds of people who gathered to listen, share, and feel the message of peace carried by the Flame.

The words and the actions shared during these gatherings deeply moved and inspired those present. A sense of joy, unity, and hope was clearly felt in the atmosphere, touching the hearts of everyone who attended. Once again, the Flame of Hope fulfilled its purpose: to unite, inspire, and remind us that peace is a shared human responsibility.
The official launch of the Peace Walk to Jerusalem saw dozens of peace pilgrims from around the world join hands and hearts to begin the journey. Also present was the delegation from the World March for Peace and Nonviolence, which this year celebrates its fourth edition, strengthening the global and inclusive dimension of this initiative.
The walk will cross the whole of Europe with the aim of reaching Jerusalem in June 2027, raising awareness and calling for a solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, as well as to the many other conflicts that continue to escalate across the planet. The Peacewalk is not only a walk—it is a conscious call to humanity.
Along the route, the World March for Peace will create multiple meeting points and moments of connection in key cities across Europe and beyond, including Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Sarajevo, Istanbul, and many more, on the way to Jerusalem in 2027.
Everyone is welcome to take part in The Peacewalk journey for peace: people may join for a single day, a few hours, several weeks, or even months—in whatever way is possible. Every step, no matter how long or short, is a contribution to peace. The Peacewalk is a collective pilgrimage along the longest peace route in the world, the Way of Jerusalem. As its message states: “This is a walk for justice, peace, and human dignity. A nonviolent, grassroots action, uniting voices that oppose oppression, occupation, and violence, in favour of reconciliation, equality, and peace for all.”
The Flame of Hope team extends its deep gratitude to The World Peace March for this collective opportunity to share and act for peace. It was a pleasure and an honour to have accompanied this historic journey and to walk together to plant light, commitment, and hope in a historic moment that calls us to move forward as one.
